Class Management Block

Written by Matt Young

Overview

We have a Class Management Block family at each location for short-term blocks.

Using a short-term block swimmer allows us to reduce class size for 1 - 6 weeks without remembering to unblock the class.

With a defined end date for the block enrollment, this method allows perpetual enrollment to be booked for next week without issues.

One-Lesson Class Management Block

Scenario: Lilyana's mom tells us she needs makeup, but it must be in a class with a maximum of 2 swimmers.

  1. Locate a class with 3 available spots
  2. Enroll Lilyana as a makeup spot #2
  3. Enroll Class Management Block(1) as a Single Day spot #3
  4. Enroll Class Management Block(2) as a Single Day spot #4
  5. Send a shift alert to the Site with a heads up of the blocks for Lilyanna.
  6. No class notes are needed.

Site Supervisor Pro Tip: Need a one-day class management block? Use Single Day—no notes required! For example, if you're short a teacher on a shift, use the class management block for the day, and then it will be open the following week's class business as usual with no added steps!

Perpetual Short-Term Block (2-6 lessons)

Scenario: The Site Supervisor wants to block one spot to allow Scout to get adjusted.

  1. Enroll Class Management Block with an end date
  2. Make class notes indicating who the temporary block is for and the reason for the block.
Subject Example: 3wk Temp Block to get Scout up to speed.
"Temp Block" refers that this is a short-term for up to 6 weeks using our Class Management enrollment.
