Observe

Second Class

  • Have Trainee lead class for songs and the 2nd half 
  • Support and encourage
  • Lead all songs and 2nd half of class for remainder of shift 
  • Ask for help as needed

Third Class

  • Diving for rings
    • Reaching on steps
    • Getting to the bottom 
  • First half of class, observe the parents and students in this class
  • Diving for rings, progressions

Fourth Class

  • FOW: Challenge Trainee to give you ideas on how to implement it in this class
  • Give feedback at the end of class
  • What specific drill would you add for this week's FOW?

Fifth Class 

  • Discuss feedback at the end of class
  • If appropriate, be sure to include a ring exercise in free time
  • Give Trainer feedback on what you would like to spend the rest of this shift focusing on

Remainder of the Shift

  • Ask the Trainee, “What skill set would you like to work on?”
  • Continue with allowing the Trainee to practice hand holds - correct when necessary
  • Show and discuss ways to efficiently teach and handle challenging situations


 

  • Prepare to teach entire class on Day 5
  • Discuss with trainer any section of the class that you are concerned about
  • Ask them to demonstrate during their class what you are not confident about

  • Step work weight bearing, waterfall progressions
  • Gather class zen sweep
  • Use turtle kickboard as your student
  • Learn “Wheels on the Bus” song

Second Class

  • Wall Work: paws on wall, toys, mirrors
  • Back-floating holds, TwinkleTwinkle song
  • Assist trainer as appropriate
  • Learn “London Bridge” song

Third Class

  • Core Work 
    • Prone hold
    • Sit on wall
  • Tummy Time on hippo
  • Observe and ask questions
  • Ask for additional training if you have a BS class on your new shift
