Opening Tasks:

  • Deactivate alarm
  • Unlock doors using screw driver in front desk top drawer
  • Turn on lights - Retail area, changing area, restroom, front desk area and staff office as needed
  • Walk the facility for order & safety
    • Tissues and sanitizer on counters, paper towels and toilet paper in bathrooms
    • Does anything look unusual, broken, tampered with, etc?
  • Check the pump room – no alarm lights, no water leaks, etc.
  • Count in cash box for Snack Bar
  • If someone is out, notify Front Desk/Bracelets & Deck Supervisor
  • Check phone messages on front desk phone
  • Turn on music
  • Greet staff – pass on any concerns/alerts to staff
  • Attend deck meeting 15 minutes prior to shift (as often as possible)
  • Open and review your email
  • Print/Review
    • New Swimmer list (confirm truly NE)
    • Drop List
  • Review Waitlist
  • Open homepage on HFSS Binder and review any new information including the Monday Memo
  • Tuesday (first shift of the week):
    • Print 2 color copies of the Focus of the Week, Monday Memo and HH workout.
      • Distribute to Deck Supervisor
      • Post a copy (FOW, MM only) in Staff changing room
  • Print 1 color copy of the Focus of the Week (lobby). Post it on the parent bulletin board.
  • Print HH workout on waterproof paper and put it at HH lane.

During Shift:

  • Keep SS shift notes
  • Proactively communicate with parents & children
  • Analyze Shift Numbers Report (1st FULL week of month)
  • Monitor Pool Controller Logs 
  • Be a presence in the lobby area
  • Cover staff members that need breaks 
  • Assure facility cleanliness & safety (floors, trash and laundry)
  • Assist Front Desk and Snack Bar
  • Manage and maintain classes in iClassPro
  • Review and update class notes from the Supervisor roster
  • Subsheets:
    • Daily - every SS should glance at the sheets to be aware. Sub-coordinator will process. 
    • Maintain subsheets. Find replacements for anyone calls out.



 

Closing Tasks:

  • Review the day with DS and FD
  • Confirm skills reports were sent through iCP.
  • Confirm pool chemistry was tested and within range
  • Confirm DS left deck stand in orderly fashion
  • Snack Bar checklist is completed
  • Front Desk checklist is completed
  • E-mail shift notes to Site Supervisor group
  • Lock the cash boxes in Site Supervisor Desk drawer
  • Update staff attendance sheet
  • Review time clock for the shift.
  •  Confirm that safe is locked
  •  Log off of the computers
  • Review time clock

Last one out:

  •  Visual check of the pump room
  •  Cover pools
  •  Confirm restrooms, staff changing room and changing rooms are empty
  •  Turn off all lights and music
  •  Lock all doors
  •  Set alarm
  •  Be sure doors latch as you leave the building
