Opening Tasks

  • Enter building single front door into changing room using employee code 1998✓
  • Deactivate alarm
  • Turn on lights (behind front desk and at far end of pool deck)
  • Walk the facility for order & safety
    • Does anything look unusual, broken, tampered with, etc?
    • Check the pump room – no alarm lights, no water leaks, etc.
  • Unlock front door
  • If someone is out, notify Front Desk/Bracelets & Deck Supervisor
  • Turn on music (how)
  • Greet all staff – pass on absences or any concerns for shift
  • Touch base with staff. Review any special notes from Memo or other FD related topics.
  • Be prepared for Trainees and CIs. Print paperwork and plan the day. Be sure they feel welcome.
  • Attend deck meetings occasionally.
  • Review your email and your notes to follow up on
  • Print/Review
    • New Swimmer list (confirm truly NE)
    • Drop List
  • Review Waitlist
  • Open homepage on HFSS Binder and review any new information including the Monday Memo
  • Monday (first shift of the week):
    • Print 2 color copies of the Focus of the Week, Monday Memo and HH workout.
      • Distribute to Deck Supervisor
  • Print 1 color copy of the Focus of the Week (lobby). Post it on the parent bulletin board.
  • Print HH workout on waterproof paper and put it at HH lane.

During Shift:

  • Keep SS shift notes
  •  Proactively communicate with parents & children
  •  Analyze Shift Numbers Report (1st FULL week of month)
  • Monitor Pool Controller Logs 
  • Be a presence in the lobby area
  • Cover staff members that need breaks 
  • Assure facility cleanliness & safety
  • Assist Front Desk
  • Manage and maintain classes in iClassPro
  • Subsheets:
    • Daily - every SS should glance at the sheets to be aware. Sub-coordinator will process. 
    • Maintain subsheets. Find replacements for anyone calls out

Closing Tasks:

  • Review the day with DS and FD
  • Confirm attendance has been taken for all classes including no shows.
  • Confirm skills reports were sent through iCP.
  • Confirm pool chemistry was tested and within range
  • Confirm DS left deck stand in orderly fashion
  • Front Desk checklist is completed
  • E-mail shift notes to Site Supervisor group
  • Confirm the safe is locked.
  • Update staff attendance sheet
  • Review time clock for the shift.
  •  Log off of the computers

Last one out

  • Walk the entire building. Review cleanliness and order.
  •  Visual check of the pump room.
  • Cover pools (seasonal)
  •  Confirm restrooms, staff changing room and changing rooms are empty
  •  Turn off all lights and music
  •  Lock the front door.
  •  Set alarm
  •  Confirm exterior man door (9B) is locked.
