Backwash - Riverview

Setting Up for Backwash:

  1. Turn heater OFF: must cool down for 6 mins before shutting off pump
  2. Turn the UV OFF: must cool down for 6 mins before shutting off pump
  3. Turn pump OFF using VFD
  4. Switch main valves labeled A, B,C and D to the backwash position (A to close, B to open, C to close and D to open) also close the filter media valves opening just the one for the filter that is being backwashed
  5. Double check everything 
  6. Turn pump ON and fill backwash tank 
  7. Turn pump OFF 
  8. Repeat until the backwash water is clear.
  9. After backwashing, close the valve and open the next filter to clean once the backwash tank has emptied prior clean up.

Resetting After Backwash:

  1. With pump OFF: Switch all valves back to normal operating position: Switch main valves labeled A, B,C and D to the normal position (A to open, B to close, C to open and D to close) also open the filter media valves. 
  2. Turn pump ON 
  3. Bleed air out of filters by turning the small threaded valve at the top of each filter
  4. Turn heater ON 
  5. Turn controller ON
