Setting Up for Backwash:
- Turn the heater OFF via online controller
- Turn the Prominent controller flow OFF
- Turn off the following units via on/off switch:
- Aquagen
- Ozone Generator
- Oxygen Generator
- U.V. System
- Booster pump
- Attach the rapid fill white hose to the water inlet in the pump room. Quick attachment fitting. (Hose kept in the outdoor salt storage)
- Fill gutter 3/4ths full (use rapid fill hose if needed)
- Open vacuum port in pool (Prop open with a ring)
- Open vacuum valve in pump room
- Turn the pool motors off via ‘STOP’ button on each VFD screen
- Close the Surge valve
- Switch valves to the Backwash position on ONE filter per backwash cycle
- Double check everything
- Turn pool motors on with the ‘BACKWASH’ button on each screen. Press simultaneously
- The motors will automatically shut off after the backwash timer is complete
- Switch valves on the backwashed filter to normal operation position
- Switch valves to Backwash position on the next filter to be backwashed. Repeat ‘BACKWASH’ preset timers for all filters, one at a time.
Resetting After Backwash:
- Insure filter valves are back to normal operating position, as labeled
- Close vacuum port in pool
- Close vacuum valve in pump room
- Allow the pool to fill completely with the rapid refill hose
- During Refill - Add 1 gallon Liquid chlorine to the pool
- Allow pool to refill before next step
- OPEN Main Drain 50%
- OPEN Gutter/Surge Valve 100%
- Turn both pool motors on via the VFD ‘START’ button on each screen, Simultaneously
- Turn on the booster pump
- Visually check that the contact tanks water level is rising
- Drain air out of the filters via the three pressure relief valves
- Close pressure relief valves when contact tanks are full & bubbles have stopped in the pool.
- Adjust heater bypass pressure (50-60 gpm)
- Allow the pool to run for 20 minutes before next step
- Turn on Prominent flow
- Turn heater on via the online controller
- Turn ON the following units via on/off switch:
- Aquagen
- Ozone Generator
- Oxygen Generator
- U.V. System
- Clear alarms when completed - Test chemicals - Monitor as needed
