Why does my child have the ribbon but no the skill?

Ribbons are not the same as skills on a progress report. Ribbons are awarded when a swimmer can first accomplish a skill like backfloating, getting rings from the bottom or swimming across the pool. ​The skills on the progress report are then marked off when they are mastered. Mastered means they perform the skill comfortably, confidently and consistently (3-4 lessons) .
