Why Use Acid?
Very simply - to balance the pool water pH after adding chlorine.
When Should I Fill The Acid Tank?
If it’s less than half full, it needs to be filled.
When Should I Switch The Acid Tank?
PROs should be the only one touching this acid tank. Because we use 100% acid, we try to run it as dry as possible before switching to a new tank.
Filling The Acid Tank?
Caution should be used when filling any acid tank. Closed toe shoes, long pants, protective eyewear and masks are all required Fill until the acid tank is full.
Swapping The Acid Tank:
Closed toe shoes, long pants, elbow length gloves, protective eyewear and chemical mask are all required. Start by removing the cap of the empty acid tank. It has 2 1/4in spaghetti tubing lines going into it so unscrew with care. Replace it with a full acid tank. Remove the cap from the new acid tank and put it on the empty tank for Leslies to pick up. Put the cap with the spaghetti lines onto the new tank. Continue monitoring ALK to determine if you need to adjust the pumps.
For ANY pool
3:1 ratio of water to acid That means you’ll add 4 gallons of acid to 12 gallons of water. You should always have 3 times more water than acid. |
