Is once-a-week lessons really enough?

Short Answer

Absolutely!  Through our experience, most of the swimmers in our program attend one 30 minute lesson once a week and progress through levels in a timely manner. The most important thing is consistency attending your scheduled class.

The More You Know

When the parent is committed to showing up every week to their regularly scheduled lesson we are then able to provide consistency in our teaching, and the same instructor is there to get to know and work with your child each week. This means that the instructor will know exactly what techniques/drills have worked with your little one and what skills your child still needs to work on to progress to the next level.  We also want your child to be comfortable and trust his/her instructor and the only way to do that is to seem them consistently each week.

We are also very good at maximizing every minute of swim time to make sure that these kids are learning each week. They are not only learning the skills that the instructor is teaching them, but they are also learning from their peers! We love our group lessons so that kids have someone to watch working on the same skills they are. Kids always learn more from each other then from just listening to an instructor. If you see your child playing and splashing on the step, be happy! The amount that they learn from self-exploration is amazing! They are practicing breath control, buoyancy and comfort while the instructor is working with another child.  By being in a group setting your child is also learning other life skills like respecting others in the water, taking turns, and other social skills.

We find once a week is just enough for our swimmer. With kids schedules and parents schedules the most important thing is committing to your day and time each week so your swimmer is seeing their teacher to build their skills. If you have time for an extra class here an there we have Single Day enrollments that can be booked weekly at a low rate or if you have the availability we can schedule a second class a week at a discount.

Absolutely. To a child something new is the unknown and that can be scary. A sense of comfort comes with the predictability of repetition. They gain confidence in knowing what to expect. Children thrive on the repetition of patterns, sounds and experiences. Like when they learned to say mama/dada, learning to walk, etc.
